Slow Rolling Willow Leaf Spinnerbait
Tip:
After a very hard rain, when the water is muddy, find pockets in deep water coves that have fast drop offs next to the bank. Cast a chartrueuse or yellow spinnerbait, with silver willow leaf blades, to the edge of the bank and slowly work it out in to deep water. you need to work it much like a Texas rigged worm. To the Bass, it looks like a baitfish that can't get enough oxygen due to the muddy water. When the bass hits the spinnerbait, it will pick it up and hold it. I have never had a bass slam the spinnerbait while using this technique. Use this and, GOOD LUCK.

Try This The Next Time
Tip:
I have found that this works well with catching crappie, but it will also work with any other fish you like to catch. Buy some sardines with no extras just in sardine oil and freeze the juice when you eat them. Take this and use it as a dip for a beetle spin. It will catch 10 to 1 more fish than a regular lure, I have found that King Albert's works best, but any will work. I have not used this on any other lures but plan to this coming year.

Jigin And Tippin
Tip:
I usually use a 1/4oz. jig with a pink and black plastic. When you're fishing for striper you will have to be patient. When you cast out, let the bait sink all the way to the bottom and start flinch it up and down if you feel a little tug or a thunk. You should get a good hook set and now you a have caught a striped bass.

Where's The Beef
Tip:
I found this out purely by accident, but fish love the taste of beef. My husband and I were camping and cooked steaks on the grill. A piece had fallen on the ground so I threw it into the lake. The fish were like pirahna's. The beef was already cooked and the fish couldn't get enough. Very good bait to use.

Senkos
Tip:
It's hard to beat the deadly action of a falling senko. I've had my best success on senkos that are wacky-rigged. If you're not sure what that is, take a wide-gap 2/0 or 3/0 hook and hook it through the center of the senko. Then fish the senko with no weight at all. Or if its deep, try drop-shotting like this. Seems like if there is a fish in the area its hard for them to resist taking a bite of a slow falling senko. the 4" ones work the best for me with green-pumpkin and smoke being my favourite colours. ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS!

Catch The One You Will Never See
Tip:
I have found when fishing with any lure that on your return when you get about 5 or 6 feet from the boat start retrieving your lure fast for a second and then stop, if there is a Bass or any fish behind it you have a better chance of hooking up with it most times when I change the speed a Bass that had been following it the whole cast will inhale it thinking it is getting away. and if it doesn't do anything well no harm done.

Slow Down & Speed Up
Tip:
While fishing with plastics either Texas or weightless try this. Make your cast close to the cover you are fishing, leave slack in the line and watch the line for hits on the way down. When the lure hits the bottom let it sit, don't do anything, just let it sit until you can't take it anymore. When you do move it, reel it in for the first couple of feet using a 1/2 crank. And let it sit 2 or 3 seconds. After a couple of feet start reeling it with a good speed until you get to the boat. I have found that this method has been able to fill the live well up on more than one occasion.

Tube Draggin'
Tip:
When smallmouth bass are deep(20 + feet: any time of year except spawn), dragging a tube can bedeadly for catching them. Don't worry about the action, just go with your favourite tube, I like to rig it on a jighead with the jighead buried in the tube and just slowly pull it along the bottom. Bass will zero in on that tube and check it out. This works best in clear water. When select SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWSing tube colours, try to match the colour of the lake bottom, especially if its a clear day and theres a lot of visibility to the water. But black can be a great colour too. Let the bass tell you how fast to pull it. This works great for dropoffs and mid-lake humps especially when there is a hard bottom. I caught a lot of smallies this way, and you will too.

Pegging Tungston Weights
Tip:
I haven't been able to find tungston weights with a screw in device. I have had good success by tieing a piece of 20 lb. test with a square knot above the weight and trimming off the tag ends.

Filet A Fish
Tip:
First put your knife under the side of the fish's head and make a 90' angle cut util you reach the middle. Flip the fish over and do the same to the other side until the head is removed. Second, cut alond the back off the fish about 1/3 inch deep until you get to the end. Do the same to the other side. Third open up the stomach and remove the guts. Then cut off the black part of the belly and then your done. Guts make good crab bait.
