Night Fishing
Tip: I am one of these kind of guys that love to fish at night. The only problem I got is the skeeters love me. I have sprayed down with repellent, burnt candles and wore a net on my head and the skeeters still bother me. A couple of years ago we got a yellow globe for our lantern and I am here to tell you it really makes a difference. I still spray but with the yellow globe along with it the bugs stay away pretty much. It makes it a lot nicer fishing at night.

Save Time On The Water With (carolina Rig Leader Holder)
Tip: Now days everyone is pushed for time so any time I'm on the water carolina rigging I always have premade leaders on hand to save me more fishing time. You can make your own leader holder from PVC pipe I have sent a how to blueprint that goes with this tip you take 2"diameterX6" PVC pipe cut to length I used a cut off wheel in the shop to make the 1/8"slots X 3/4" long for the hook point to go inside of the pipe clean excess plastic with a small file or sandpaper. Buy velcro male & female, the male only has the adhesive backing this piece sticks to the PVC pipe cut this to length the female can joint the male. As a extra you can drill a 1/4" hole at one end to hang it on your tackle bag or where ever you would like, when making your leaders normally the length vary by color of water so I make mine a little long you can always shorten them on this print will hold 7 leaders I hope this save you more time on the water.

Shinner Life
Tip: I use a product called shinner life that i bought at ace hardware. this product only requires one small cap full into about 5 gallons of water and keeps your shinners kickin till its time to hook em. this will increase the life of the shinner in the water when its nesscary to catch the fis! it will also cut down on your floating shinners in your bait bucke!

Spicy
Tip: Cut up a hotdog in chunks marinate the chunks with garlic powder or garlic juice let them sit over night. Thread it on your hook and go fishing for channel catfish they love it.

Live Bait
Tip: Flatheads prefer live bait: bream, bullheads, etc. Use live bait on float rigs ( slider corks with bobber stops to set the depth). This allows the bait to swim around, a more natural presentation that really works.

Hookin Em'
Tip: I know everyone has their favorite way to rig up a shiner so here is mine. I noticed hooking them right behind the dorsal fin that they are very active for a very short amount of time. I'm no expert on fish biology but I guess it sorta paralyzes them in some way. Anyway... I like to put a medium sized hook right at the end of the fish almost right where the tailfin starts. The shiner stays active for many casts and for about 45 minutes to an hour.

Topwater Lure
Tip: When you are in an area with lilly pads, try using a topwater weed-proof frog lure to catch big bass. It will not hang in the long stalks of the lilly pads and looks like common forage for that type of area. It has worked many times for me.

Use Superbraids To Their Fullest
Tip: Superbraids are quite expensive, but they're outstanding for many different fishing situations. So, here's a tip to keep the overall costs associated with using braids down. First, remember that braids do not wear out as quickly as monofilament or co-polymer lines. Depending on the type of fishing, a single spooling of a good braid could possibly last all season. Second, if the end of the braid becomes worn from lots of casting, you can de-spool the line onto an old spool, and then re-tie to your backing swapping ends so the working end is now first on the spool. Third, only use as much braid as is necessary, putting it on after a backing of quality monofilament or co-polymer line. If you typically only use 20 yards worth of line in your casting and pitching, then only put about 25 yards of superbraid on the spool. This will allow you to get up to 6 refills from a 150 yard spool.

Save Money On Replacement Jig & Spinnerbait Skirts (broken Skirt Bands)
Tip: I have two ways to save money on these. First one is you can take miniature cable ties one per jig or spinnerbait that's with the skirt on either take and spread the skirt strands the way they would be when you buy them new in the pack put the cable tie right on top of the skirt band and tighten it down with needle nose pliers slightly more than snug then clip it off with wire cutters myself I rotate the clip under the weed guard it is very small & causes no problems. The second way if you use braided line save it when you change it out you can take it the same way as the cable tie but when you wrap it around the skirt tightly 5 to 6 wraps you can hold the line both ends with one hand have super glue on hand & put one drop on the line hold it for about 20 seconds then clip the excess line off with good scissors. (Put your savings into your gas tank)

Another Option Across Matted Vegetation...
Tip: In slop where you have trouble getting good hook-ups with floating Rat Type lures, try fishing a 1/4oz to 3/8oz penetrator -type Jig with a jumbo pork chunck trailer. With a stout 7"6" rod you can drag it across and through the junk. When a fish bites, drop the tip for a second before you set the hook. If the fish misses, let the lure settle in the closest pocket, or immediately fire back in with a jig heavy enough to penetrate the slop. WarEagle
