Report:
Fishing was tough for this tournament. 14+ boats showed and we gave it a go beginning at 7 AM. Fog shrouded the pond and we drew takeoff number 13.
Parking at the boat ramp was tight. We ended up parking down on the road (as did many other people). There were a few Memorial Day boaters, but not many.
Though we caught 8 bass, none measured the 12 inch minimum. All were between 10 inches and 11 3/4 inches. We used nearly every bait in our boxes - spinner baits, stick baits, crank baits - the usual. I did catch a very nice rainbow trout as we moved across the upper pond to the island. Not a fish was on its bed that we saw.
At the weigh-in we found that nearly 3 to 5 boats zero'd like us. The largest fish was 4 lb'r and the biggest bag was just over 7lbs. and that was with 5 fish!
A tough day that ended even tougher due to traffic jam with a New Jersey tourist at its center on the ramp. Next tournament is in Vermont on Lake Bomoseen/Lake St. Catherine.
