Report:
I was at the park at 7am, you cant get into till then. It was a clear hot morning. I tried using a weedless frog no hits but I managed to lose it on a log. I went to the East fishing pier and started fishing with worms. I got a couple little nibbles, but no hits. This lady came down on the pier, greeted me and cast out and started pulling in bluegill as fast as she could. I asked her what she was using, it was grasshoppers. She was camped there, and almost overrun with the things. She decided, to try and fish with them. She took an empty water bottle poked holes in it and put the grasshoppers in the bottle. When she wanted one, she took the cap off the bottle and shook one out. She hooked them up thru the belly she was using real small hook and a split shot sinker. On her other pole, she was catching Largemouth Bass 2 to 3 pounders. She caught five of those. She was using gold fish for bait, hooking them thru the nose. I was still using worms, not catching nothing. She felt sorry for me, gave me a gold fish. I hooked up and cast out along the weeds. It wasn't long my bobber stook off under water, my heart started pumping I was getting excited. Whatever was on there was big, what a fighter. I couldn't wait to get it in to get a picture to show y'all. I thought I almost had him, he dove deeper went under the pier, got off the hook taking the gold fish with him. I was in shock, then I realized I lost him. What a fight, he put up. I did something wrong, otherwise I would have had him.
Well even thou I never got one in, I learned about fishing with grasshoppers and gold fish. The day is never a loss when you learn something, I had a great time.
