Report:
Second day of Turkey Season Outing, second day of cold rain and wind. Alan and I sludged out to the "Honey Hole" a private lake in SouthWestern Indiana where we have good luck normally, and catch bigger fish even if not as many. Weather was a definite factor. Bite continued slow. I caught a couple on the initial run with Yum Zellamanders (green/gold flake) Texas Rigged. Alan was throwing an Ambush Lures Mozingo in shad color. I switched to a Sqworm Tube (green/orange flake) and caught 2 more. If I caught 2 every time I changed baits, I would be o.k. Alan managed a few on a couple different things. Then the battery for the trolling motor died. We limped back to the ramp, and hooked the battery to the van with jumpers. Alan fished the bank and got 2 little crappie on Johnson Beetle Spins. I sat in the warm van and caught some winks. I got up and threw out a lizard along the bank and got 2 more. We gave it about an hour and got back on the water. I switched to an Ambush Fat Daddy Min'R and caught a couple more nice largemouth. All told I had 8 largemouth. Alan had 3 and 2 crappie. Slow, but fun. And the day was only half over. Off to Ferdinand State Park Lake for the p.m. and evening.
