Fishing Report: Private Pond, Ohio (04/29/05)
Posted By: wes03
Trip Date: April 29, 2005
Location Information:
Spot: Private Pond
Country: United States of America
State: Ohio
Number of Anglers: 3
Water Clarity: Muddy
Weather Conditions: Cloudy
Number of Fish Caught: 2
Water Temp: 48
Air Temp: 54

Tackle Used:
My tackle was my usual 6'6" shakespeare excursion rod with my Axion baitcaster w/ 12 pound lo-vision green stren line. My bait was a rapala baby bass shallow runner that dives to 4 feet. zoom 6 inch lizard with a black body and green tail with a small 1/8 oz. bullet weight at the head to penetrate the cover. Finally a weedless white mouse.

Report:
We didn't get started till late in the day around 6:15p.m. Once I seen the water was muddy from the rain a day before. I decided that with the cold water and the lite wind i was going to throw a crankbait around 3 to 6 feet. I threw it out a few time and had no response at all. I wasn't sure what to try so i threw on a lizard and threw it next to the shore hoping for something to spice up the day. With no luck from the lizard because i would say the cover was a little think and my lizard wasn't falling clear through to the bottom. When about 7 o'clock rolled around the fish were swirling around on top so i threw on a weedless white mouse and slowly reeled it and skipped it across the top and the bass started hitting it with unexpected aggressiveness. We couldn't keep to many of them on because of the think cover they were also sucking in with the mouse it was easy for them to spit it out.
