Report:
Out for a short trip yesterday, and found a large number of old bass beds. Lots of casting, little action, until I got a backlash and after picking it out, noticed my line moving off to the right... set the hook, and a very nice female was brought to the net.
She measured over 20" in length, but was skinny as a tadpole. The poor girl hadn't recovered at all from the spawn yet.
I bet she would have weighed at least 5 1/2 pounds before dropping her eggs, but only came up to 2 lbs 10 oz yesterday.
She went back in, hopefully to spawn again another day.
