Fishing Report: AEP Ponds, Ohio (04/25/05)
Posted By: wes03
Trip Date: April 25, 2005
Location Information:
Spot: AEP Ponds
Country: United States of America
State: Ohio
Number of Anglers: 3
Water Clarity: Clear
Weather Conditions: Cloudy
Number of Fish Caught: 4
Water Temp: 45
Air Temp: 55

Tackle Used:
The lure I started with was a 3 blades booyah buzzbait on my 6'6" shakespear excursion medium action rod w/ stren lo-vision green 12 pound line spooled on my Axion 4 bearing baitcaster. I then switched to my a zoom 6 inch green w/ black dots and a laser sharp eagle claw hook 1/0 size. rigged to be weedless and sink slowly. my finals bait was a black w/ green tail 6 inch zoom salt lizard.

Report:
The weather had been bad on the Saturday and Sunday before this Monday trip w/ snow hard at sometimes. Hoping the cold water would not hurt the spawn or the aggressiveness of the fish. We came to figure out that the fish were pretty much inactive at all depths. With the 3 fish caught none of them were even near a pound. In week before we were catching 4 pounders in their beds and many other nice fish. it was hard to make the fish become active because we couldn't see them moving off the shore so we figured they were out a little deeper trying to stay warm. Hopefully with the weather warming up just a little bit now the fish are starting to move back up in their beds to protect their eggs.
