Report:
Hello Everybody,

Fishing is still great on beautiful Lake Palestine. The water is in good shape all over the Lake and water temps range from lower 60's main Lake to 73 - 74 degrees in some creeks.

Bass are in all stages of the spawn still and probably will be for the rest of April. I took out Mario Flores and his partner Fred Bright from Houston, Texas the first of the week.

We launched out of the Village's Marina. If you are coming to the Villages for a time of relaxing etc. give me a call and book a great day or two on some of the most beautiful Bass habitat in Texas.

We went up into one creek channel early and caught Bass up to 5 lbs. on watermelon senko type baits. I got some good pictures to show you when I get my film developed of a couple of my last Guide trips to Palestine. Mario and Fred said they had a blast as I watched them catch some good Bass and some smaller fish. It did not seem to matter the size just being in the great outdoors and fighting Bass was great.

We moved at midday to another creek and had some great action, once Mario hooked about a 3 lb. Bass and it leaped about a foot or 2 out of the water and turned a complete summer salt and got free. We laughed and said that Bass deserved his freedom. We got into about 35 Bass all day and boated about 28 up to 5 lbs. It was a great day.

When Bass are shallow the pattern we used will work for you at your favorite fishing hole just take a 4/0 hook, a regular worm hook and rig on one of the many 5 inch type baits in watermelon made by Senko, or Yum, or Wave Worms or other bait companies and cast it along the cover either grass or wood from 1 - 5 feet deep. It cast like a bullet and let it flutter down to the bottom and give it slight twitches and the Bass will grab it and start running with it tighten up your slack and set the hook.

Till next time be blessed in God's great outdoors. If you want to book a trip with me just e-mail me or call me at 903-478-2413 or 903-724-0961. Full day is $275.00 and 1/2 day is $200.00 for 1 or 2 people. The Villages is where I mostly work out of but will meet you where you want.

Also booking Sand or white bass trips on Richland Chambers. It is not uncommon to catch over 100 white bass a day, a lot of action and a lot of fun. Rates are the same for Richland. Have a great day!
