Report:
Unloaded the boat at sunrise, went to the north end of the lake. The fish were hitting the water. We tried spinners and later when the sun came up good we tried top water lures. The wind started blowing hard so we decided to go up into some coves where there was some wind cover. I had tied on a red rubber lizard with a bullet weight because of the wind. I tossed it around a few stumps and fallen trees. There was a patch of weeds that were on the edge of a dropoff so I cast the lizard into the weeds. Bam a 51/2 pound largemouth nailed it. It fought good went under the boat a couple of times but I managed to haul it in. This bass was the only one we caught but I would forgo all the small ones for this one anytime.
