Hello Everybody,
Bass fishing is Very Good to Excellent right now. With the 2 days of 80 degree air temps. The water temps have risen to the low 70's in the creeks. One creek I was in yesterday the water temps were 73.9 degrees. Most Bass have already finished spawning, from what I have seen in the North areas of the Lake. I saw hatched Bass fry throughout the North areas.
From the Mid-lake area to the South Areas are now going strong in the Creek systems and around the boathouses.
After doing poorly at a Media Bass tournament on Richland Chambers I took clients out to Lake Palestine for an Evening in the creeks. Over 30 Bass were caught up to 5 1/2 lbs. A lot of action on soft Jerk baits in the grass and around wood cover. Senko type baits in watermelons were the ticket and also creature type baits rigged Texas rigged and lightly weighted caught over 5 fish in the 4-5 lb. class.
During windy situations like yesterday the spinnerbait will work well. Throw the spinner bait around the grass or wood cover and let it slightly flutter down then reel it back keeping it just above the grass or bottom. Bam they hit hard and we had some good action yesterday on spinnerbaits.
I licking my wounds from my bad finish on Richland. If you ever put all you know into a Lake and come up empty during a tournament you know what I mean.

Lake Palestine is a beautiful Lake and although the catching is a great part of the day just being out in God's creation and getting a lot of peace flowing through your mind is some of the best medicine I know for stress.
