Report:
Tournament day after a cold front night before; Toho is infamous for fish getting lockjaw after a front.

I can attest to that fact.

After fishing beds for several hours, using multiple techniques, we decided to lock out and go to lake Hachneaha which is connected via canal. We found hydrilla, and late in the day the fish began striking minnows in the edges of the grass. Partner and I fished at least 15 different baits, partner finally scoring a solid 2.5 lb fish very late.

We saddled up, heading up the creek towards the lock; I stopped in the canal, unable to resist casting towards some very good-looking rip-rap along the shore. On the second cast, BOOM! had to be a 5 pounder... played it for a short while, and sure enough it was a 5 pounder! A 5 pound PICKEREL! Not exactly what I was looking for...
