Report:
The Chena River runs through Fairbanks and I try ti fish there every time I stay at Pike Landing. After a 18 plane ride it's a good way to unwind. Jet skis and boat rip through but all and all it's a nice river in an urban setting. Arctic grayling and pike make their home in this river so I'm always keen to get one. After about 5 trips to the Chena I finally landing a health sized grayling using a #1 black and white single hook Mepps. The water is so clear that I could watch the grayling respond to the lure and take the hook. Nice way to end a long day of travel.
