| About the BassPoints Tournament System |
How it Works
BP Tourneys last 6 months total. Each tournament starts with 4 months of open competition. After 4 months, the top 15 BP earners will move on to the Semi-Final round,
which will last 1 month. The top 5 BP competitors that earn the most BP that month, move on to the final round. The final round lasts one month, and BP prizes will be given
to the top 3 earners of that month.
NOTE: While the BP each contestant earns is accumulated for the first 4 months of each tournament, the Semi-Final and Final rounds are
based off the number of BP earned by the qualifying members for that ONE MONTH ONLY. So, in the beginning of the Semi-Final rounds, the top 15 BP earners all go on
to the Semi-Finals, but all of them start with 0 BP earned towards that Semi-Final rounds. The same applies to the Final round, where the top 5 BP earners go on
to the Finals, all of them start with 0 BP earned towards the that Final round.
In order to keep from having any down-time for the users that don't qualify, a new tournament will start each month! Here's how that will work:
In May 2005 we will announce the top 15 BP earners for January 2005 through April 2005 that will go on to the Semi-Finals for the January-June competition.
In June 2005 we will announce the top 5 contenders from the Semi-Finals of the January-June competition, AND at the same time, announce the top 15 BP earners for the
February-July Semi-Finals! So, each month, a new tourney will be started. All BP earned are applied to ALL applicable tournaments. You don't
have to pick & choose which tourney you want them to apply to. Just EARN LOTS OF BP!!!
Prize Amounts
The top 3 contestants in each tourney will receive:
· 1st Place - 10,000BP!!!
· 2nd Place - 5,000BP!!
· 3rd Place - 2,500BP!
What Qualifies
The point of the BassPoints Tournament is to get users to be more active on the website and to encourage them to post more reports, stories, pictures, etc. As such, only
BP earned for posting content will be considered in the BassPoints Tournament. BP earned via the Live Well, Swimming Fish or BP given by the webmaster for "Other" reasons
will not qualify.
