One day this past summer my dad, brother, cousin, and I went fishing on my cousin's boat. When we got there we had to wait for the battery to charge, so we fished off the dock first. The first one to start it off was my brother. He caught a Blue Gill and a Yellow Perch on a mini spinnerbait. I eventually got a bite on my Rapala. It was a Bass. The Bass jumped up and shook the hook on me.
A couple cast later I had another bite. It was another Bass. This one didn't jump. This one came right at me! It stopped under the dock I was standing on. I soon pulled him up. I measured him, took a picture, then put him back. He was 15" long and weighed about 2 to 3 pounds. When the batery was all charged we got on the boat and drove to a spot.

In this spot my dad was the first to start it off. He caught a Yellow Perch on a Devil. Next my brother caught a Yellow Perch on a mini spinnerbait. After that my cousin caught a Rock Bass by dragging a worm on the bottom. It was my turn to catch one now. I caught a Yellow Perch on a Rapala. Before we left the spot my cousin caught another Rock Bass by dragging the worm.

The next spot we went to was the Blue Gill hot spot. We must have
been near a whole school of them! All of us were dragging worms on the bottom. My dad caught 5, my brother caught 10, my cousin caught 6, and I caught 8.

Because it was a really hot afternoon,we went to this one spot and jumped in. We caught a lot of fish that day. It was the best fishing trip of the whole year!
