Fishing Stories
Up and over and around the pier (Add to Favorites)

Tricky fishy

I was fishing off the pier at the cottage when I had a strike. I saw a flash of silver while the fish danced and ran for a bit. I figured it was probably just another sheephead, so I was just playing with it. Well, then he made a run under the pier so I tried to horse him out. Couldn't do it as he had also gotten around one of the many log-snags in the area. I was gonna just break the line and set him free, but my brother-in-law said no. My husband jumped in, followed the line, untangled it and brought up a very nice white bass for me. Took him several dives as the fish had gotten stuck on almost everything it could! Quite a bit of work for one fish, but it makes a funny story.
