My Pflueger Sleeps with da Fishes

Lost my reel cover.
I was fishing with my buddy Jim who came in from Indiana this weekend to do some visiting. He didn't have his pole with him so I let him use my Abu and Ugly. I was to use my Pflueger Purist and Ugly. The problem is that I have a hard time casting light lures with my Pflueger. Maybe it's me. Maybe it's the reel. I'm not sure yet since it's only one month old and my first bait caster.
I kept getting backlash with all my light tackle. I was in the process of adjusting brakes. More and less. Less and more. I was getting close. That was until I made one slight mistake. I was on the pier and the cover slipped out of my hand. It hit the deck which I was glad to see.....at first. It turns out that cover bounces pretty well. It leapt off the pier and into the water along with any hopes I had of catching any fish this morning. I hoped it would float since I believed it was made of plastic. No such luck. It began to sink. I was thinking to myself that If I could see it then I would jump in after it. Not today. It fell into darkness.
Hopefully Cabella's will help me order new and not charge me an arm and a leg. We'll find out in the next couple of days after I dry my tears.
