Made the paper while fishin'.
I was fishin' at the Ohio River the other day while hangin' out across the river from the Marietta Sternwheeler Festival. I seen a fella flyfishin just about a hundred yards down from me and when he come back up my way, I asked him if he was doin any good. He said he was and had a question about a fish he had caught. I didn't have any idea what it could be, looked a bit like a striper bass and had a head like a trout. Then he asked me if he could ask me a question for a newspaper. I said sure and he asked me about gas prices and what I think a reasonable price would be. He quoted me and asked me a couple other questions, then took my picture. He asked where I was from and I told him Noble County, but he wanted a town name, and I told him there ain't a town for about 15 miles from where I live. I asked him what paper I'd be in, and he said the Parkersburg paper, so I thought that was pretty cool.
He told me to follow him down towards the route 7 bridge and he'd put me on some fish. I ended up catchin' a white bass and Kentucky bass and had some other bites. The best part was that he knew a lot about smallmouth spots in WV, which is where I'd like to go fishin next summer, with gas prices bein so high and all. When I went back to our campsite I told all the guys about it and they were excited that I'd be in the paper, but I'm more excited about knowin' where the decent fishin spots are so I can get a jump on next summer!
