Turning a bad fishing day into a (Add to Favorites)

Start catching fish when nothing else is biting, you may as well you're already on the lake!

Recently my cousin and I took a trip to the lake to do some fishing for Hybrid Stripe Bass, and Large Mouth. We Left Early in the morning and fished the usual live baits such as wax worms, nightcrawlers, and occasionally chicken livers. After several hours of absolutely no results we tied on a 0-3 depth minnow, charcoal gray with a red toned underbelly and produced instant results. We would cast out within 3 feet of rock cliffs or on the edge of any cover and just let it set a second and then work the lure slow at first letting it return on top of the water for about 5 - 8 ft before bringing it underwater the rest of the way. Usually the fish were busting the top of the water before it even dove under. We caught some great size bluegill and some smaller largemouth. Even though we didn't yield the big one it was an incredibly fun day on the lake.
