Where I fish it is about a mile in, and I have a small disability, I was shot in a hunting accident in 1978, which left my left hand not so good, so fishing in itself is a challenge, I had some of the very first nerve transplant surgery in the United States.
Anyway, last year when I started fishing after about 20 years, my wife bought me a wagon, at a garage sale for about $2.00, which worked out fine, because I put a cooler in it. This allowed me to carry most of my stuff, and a cooler is a good place to keep fish especially during the hot weather. That was last year, and this year "I rewired it" ha, ha toolman. Seriously the wagon had hard rubber tires and was kind of noisy, and I was constantly spooking fish. So this year I took the wagon apart, repainted it, to look like a old fishing lure, black with orange and yellow spots, with two eyes one on each side, I put 5 inch pneumatic tires on the wagon now she's real quiet. I bought a pad for in the bottom of the wagon to cushion the cooler, and drilled holes in various places around the rim, so that I could bungee things down. Before I had to lay my rods inside the cooler, but not any more. I mounted a Berkley rod rack to the top of the cooler, which is so sweet. It used to be, when going in or out, if I saw a fish in the water I couldn't get my rods out without unpacking everything. Now the lid on my cooler is open with all, and I mean all,( I never have to choose which tackle to take anymore) it all fits inside the cooler, chairs, food, water, camera, extra clothes, toilet paper, net, umbrella. I load my rods on the cooler lid alternating them on the lid. I run bungee cords under the rods to the holes I drilled in the wagon and that is it,
Now the best part. I bought a large nylon braided bungee cord, which I hook to the handle of the wagon. I put it around my waist and just walk, leaving both hands free to drink water, eat a granola bar, swat deer flies, or whatever.
The wagon pulls like it's not even there. It is quite a system. I've been told, by a lot of passers by, and even a few suggested I get a patent, for the"Fishing Mobile Tackle Wagon".
