Big Bass Attacks!! (Add to Favorites)

Big Bass has a snack right in front of my eyes.........

A couple buddies and I went to our favorite spot this past Sunday. The day seemed to drag on for me as I hadn't caught a bass for the whole first hour we were there, and both my friends already had multiple catches. As the day went on and the sun got stronger I couldn't help but get frustrated. I had around 7 bites but for some reason couldn't land one to save my life whether losing to structure or to not a good enough hook set, it just wasn't happening. The day grew later and business seemed to pick up as I caught a couple nice bass around 2-3 pounders and then another dry spell, this time it only lasted about 20 minutes before I caught a little one pounder. I thought my worries were over until I didn't get bit anymore for some reason the bass were just not really responding the way we're used to. Frustrated on my low catch count and my numerous misses on the day I said to myself one more cast I threw out a 4 1/2 curly tailed Tequila Sunrise plastic made by RoboWorm and slowly started to work my bait. More than halfway through my retrieve and still no action I figured what the hell lets just pack her up and come back another day, when it happened..... I could see my plastic coming in and all of a sudden I see a huge mouth engulf my bait make a huge splash and take off with it. Now I usually set my drag pretty tight if I have to give them room to run I will, but I like to establish who's in charge first thing. Usually once a bass feels my pressure he'll put a little fight and have to give in.....not this guy he was taking my line as if I was in free spool knowing than that I had a huge bass on the other end of my line I loosened up my drag to prevent my line from popping and started bringing him in.....now I use a 7 foot all graphite Calico Jack made by Hurricane topped off with a Shimano Sienna 2500 series loaded with 8 pound extra strength P-Line I knew this fish was done for a little work and a nice heave ho landed me a nice 6 pound 20 inch largemouth. This guy was huge, and definitely my biggest of my career let alone my year. Once I lipped him I couldn't stop smiling, I think I even kissed the guy. I ran & showed my buddies what I caught although I was bummed out that no one brought a camera I was glad that I had a couple witnesses. I gave my good byes & let him go back on his way. Like a true addict I got the shakes shortly after & couldn't stop thinking about the strike. I will now never get discouraged of a few bad hands & not let that make me fish less harder. I truly am hooked and cant wait till the next bite.... alright anglers fish it hard & go get em, Big Bass56.. Bass & Grass Club. San Fernando Valley, Ca.
