Nasty Cut

Josh fell and cut his hand.
Josh, Wes, Jon, and I were fishing in waders in the New River in Virgina and the part of the river we were in had many rock shelves and ledges that were slippery. Josh worked his way a little further toward the middle than the rest of us and slipped and fell. He caught himself with his right hand but it landed right on the edge of a sharp rock. I seen it and asked him if he was alright and he said no calmly and it caught me off guard so I then asked him if he needed help and he said yes and that's when I knew something was wrong. As he stood up and turned around I seen the blood and then he turned his hand toward me and then I saw the 5 inch gash in his palm. So I hurried up and got to shore and took off my vest and Wes helped him to shore. I ran almost a whole mile in 90 degree weather back to our van to get the first aid and then drove back to where they were. We got it cleaned up with alcohol (because that's all we had) and then wrapped it up the best we could. By the end of the day though, we were back out fishing again.
