I heard it hit and thought, "I hope it is as big as it sounds."
We were out on the boat, it was getting late and we had to go to a movie later so we were about to head in to shore to leave but we thought we'd fish a little longer. Because to my friends and I fishing rules over stuff like movies. I threw on my mouse because my luck had seem to be running out with everything else. I started throwing it on top of the weedy banks hoping for something to make the night of fishing even more worth our time. Well my wish came true and that is when I heard the hit. I really wasn't paying attention at the time I heard it, but I was soon ready and I set the hook, not knowing how big the bass was that I was reeling in. I knew it was big though because it pulled me around and up and down with no trouble. Once I got it next to the boat my buddy grabbed what we thought was maybe 7 pounds and well we were wrong. The largemouth was 9 3/4 pounds and 24 1/4 inches long. We took a lot of pics and then I threw it back for another day. That is the biggest fish I have ever caught and even a day later I am still in awe.
