Well, I was fishing with fresh caught crawfish (I get em with a dip net), and I was kinda going for catfish. Well, I hooked a really good fish. I knew it would be my new biggest. It had a super fight, and I had a nice time fighting back.
The creek I was fishing in was no wider than a cast length, and there was a small overpass where I was fishing.
Well, I was pulling the fish up, and it started swimming upstream toward the bridge. When I got it closer, I saw it was a freshwater dum, and no doubt my biggest. I had it in, and was waiting for the chance to grab it, when the knot at the hook came loose and he swam off like nothing ever happened. I was so mad, but a few days later I hooked one like it, and this time I was using a stronger hook (Tru-Turn) tied on differently. This one I dragged in, and it measured 20 1/2 inches, beating my previous 18 inch drum, and my biggest freshwater fish to date (Aug. 24 2004). I hope to get the biggest one outta there soon.
Good fishing to you
