One afternoon, after working for three weeks straight, I pulled my boat down off the hill to the river .I started throwing a silver buddy 1/4 oz. This has been my bread & butter in the river. My forth cast I got a fish. Without a doubt, it was bigger than anything I had ever caught on a silver buddy. I was using 8 pound line. After 5 min. I see this fish that’s on the end of my line, it's the biggest smallmouth bass ever, at least in this river I fought it like a pro. At the boat side, I tried to get my net that was under my back storage lid that had two cat poles out in the water, every time I lifted the lid to get the net, the cat poles would slide out, can't hold two poles & reels. I forgot about the net, and tied the old figure 8 till I thought the fish was tired out. When I fitted it out of the water, it flipped off the cone it had to have weighed 12 pounds HONEST--PAUL MAHAN
