It was a pleasant summer day on June 1, 2000 that looked favorable for fishing. So, I invited one of my cousins to come fishing with me. When we arrived, I tied on my favorite lure, a medium sized road runner. Not long after that, it seemed as the fish would not stop biting. Although all of these fish were fair sized, I wasn't satisfied.
So the next fish I caught, I told to tell "his mom" to bite my hook. Like I said, the action was amazing so it wasn't too long before I hooked my very fist 8 lb bass which astonished everyone who learned of my catch.
The next day I took the fish to the taxidermist to have the fish stuffed. Only nine days later I went to the same spot to test my luck once more. After realizing that this lake had quality fish in it, I set my sites on another big bass. With this in mind, I tied on a large crankbait. After fishing for about 2 hours I hooked another big mama. I knew this fish would set my personal record so I wasn't taking any chances. I set my drag on low, was taking my time, and attracting a crowd at that. After landing the fish, I weighed the fish, it was 10 lbs! Then I called my parents to tell them about the huge fish that I had recently caught.
As people walked by I lifted my fish out of the water to show off. One of these people stopped to take a picture of just me and the fish, but another man visiting from Katy, Texas wanted a picture including him. Little did I know one of these would later end up in the Katy Times. As my parents arrived and I let the fish go, it started to rain so we all retreated home. To this day the 10 lb, 24 inch largemouth that I caught on June 10, 2000 is my largest catch ever.
