One early September day me and my dad went fishing. We took my dog and our little bass boat (an 8 foot crawdad plastic) and we were off. We have a little farm pond a mile from our house (maybe 3 acres) and my grandpa’s friend takes his boat out there every once and a while, and that day he did too. But that was alright, he didn’t catch any crappie like we did.
We had a trolling motor, but we're farmers and nothing ever works that we have. Our battery was dead. The other guy was going to lend us one but we didn’t want it. And we didn’t have any luck for about an hour, then it started misting and we were paddling along a bank with a slow drop off. With a grasshopper swivel, something hit my pole and pulled it to the back of the boat (I was paddling and wasn’t holding it). I pulled it in and it was a fairly good size panfish. We did this five more times and caught one or even two each swipe. While the other guy was only catching bass, we caught one bass and 6 crappie. He caught 8 bass and no crappies. But I'd rather catch good crappie instead of small bass.
