I was fishing in a strip pit near Centertown, Kentucky with my dad and uncle. Everybody was catching fish but me, so I decided to switch lures for better luck. I grabbed a lure that I had never seen before and asked my uncle what the name was. He said it was called a woodchopper and that they were only good for trailers after the strippers in Kentucky lake.

I tied one on anyway and on the second cast I caught a bass weighing of 8 lbs, 4 oz. Then later in the day at a different spot on the lake I caught one weighing of 6 lbs, 5 oz. Its a good thing I didn't take my uncle's advice not to use it. It is now the premiere bait for me in strip pits.
